INTRODUCTION Throughout September and October, we will be turning Harrods into one of the world’s largest art galleries, offering you the opportunity to view and to buy work from artists ranging from Rembrand to Rolf Harris. Most of the 72 windows of Harrods, as well as 35 specific sites within the store, will be dedicated to the display of art, whether an original oil by Monet, a rare silkscreen by Warhol, or a pencil drawing by Lowry. We will also be showcasing an extraordinarily diverse collection of work by some of the country’s up-and-coming talents, as well as bringing you art by today’s best-loved artists, such as Mackenzie Thorpe and Lorenzo Quinn. In addition to being able to view and to buy art from Harrods, we’d also like to invite you to join us for an exciting programme of artist appearances and events, where you can meet many of the painters and sculptors who are making a name for themselves in the art world. So whether you’re an experienced art collector, whether you’re looking to buy your first piece, or even just seeking artistic inspiration, we look forward to welcoming you to Harrods this Autumm and changing your perspective of art.
For two months, Harrods will present a spectacular backdrop of paintings, sculpture and drawings from the world’s greatest talents past and present. And, not only will you be able to view this unique collection at your leisure, but you can also see new works of art being created. The Halcyon Gallery is a great believer in nurturing new talent, and during ‘Art of Living’, you can meet many of the artist currently creating works which are destined to become the masterpieces of the future.
